We're pleased to announce Google as our newest partner for Rising Ivy - The Black Ivy Alumni League's Breakfast Network. Meet Google recruiters 1-on-1, learn more about Google culture from representatives from the Black Googlers network and get private tours of Google's Chicago office! Why Rising Ivy?: Rising Ivy is a platform to strengthen our professional and entrepreneurial connections within our community. Networking is not about chatting over the buffet table, rather it's building a group of trusted contacts who will provide resources and connections and who will advocate for you to be the recipient of opportunities while you do the same. This is the start of a simple but powerful format enabling our community to build a platform for leveraged professional and economic growth. Format: This event will be limited to 20-30 attendees. Each attendee will get 15 seconds to introduce yourself, describe what you do, and provide our signature "offer and ask" - what you can offer the group (usually something for free i.e. a job, an introduction, free professional advice) and what you are asking for (advice for a startup, contacts for a real estate venture, a specific kind of client, help finding a new hire or a job). Behind the scenes, we will curate attendance for every event to ensure we have a group of diverse industries, backgrounds, and schools, new vs. repeat attendees, and to help you meet the ideal business contact you indicate below. Our hosts will help facilitate introductions -- as should you! This event is intended for savvy networkers and we encourage each attendee to facilitate introductions both during and beyond the event. Our Corporate Partner - Google Inc.: each month a Black Ivy Alumni League corporate sponsor will host the event and help facilitate introductions. This month's event is being sponsored and hosted by Dr. Joseph F. West (Harvard '99 & '04) and Google, Inc. Google is proud to partner with the Black Ivy Alumni League for this month's Rising Ivy breakfast. July's breakfast is open to everyone and Google is especially excited to meet alumni in Management Consulting, Sales, or Technical Sales who are excited about the opportunity to work at Google. For inquiries regarding your company hosting a breakfast, please email Maisha Walker (Princeton '94) (contact information below). |
